Mission

The University of Houston Foundation (UHF) was chartered in 1960 to provide independent support of the University of Houston, at the time when UH became a state-supported university.   Over time, it has evolved that UHF provides support to the University of Houston System, the University of Houston, UH-Downtown, UH-Clear Lake and UH-Victoria.

The University of Houston Foundation is operated for the advancement and general welfare of the educational, research and charitable activities of the UH System and universities. 

The UH Foundation may solicit and receive contributions, gifts and grants of money and property.  Assets are managed and invested, with income being distributed according to the wishes of the donor.

UHF is a 501©(3) organization.  Contributions are deductible in the manner and to the extent provided by section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
